How to Fold USPHS Flag

Items needed: 3 x 5' USPHS flag, tape measure or ruler

Step 1: layout flag on any flat surface with metal holes on your right side and insignia will be upside down.

Step 2: fold bottom end of flag toward middle. The fold you create should be 12 inches in width (use tape measure or ruler for this). Make sure to crease the fold well so that folding is easier in subsequent steps!

Step 3: fold top half of flag down toward middle. The fold you create should be 4.5 inches in width. There will be a space between your bottom and top folds.

Step 5: fold bottom half again and this time bring it all the way up to the top of the flag. The flag should now be a rectangle shape with a width of 7 inches.

Step 6: flip flag upside down. You should now see the "1798" part of flag.

Step 7: fold left side of flag to create a flap that is 6 inches and fold triangles for left side. Keep folds tight and crisp! There should be 5 folds and you should see the anchor and caduceus when down with left side.

Step 8: fold right side to create a flap that is 4.5 inches. You may need to adjust this to 4 inches depending on how folds turn out on next step.

Step 9: fold triangles for right side maintaining tight and crisp folds. If flag does not fit into triangle for last fold, that's ok! Just unfold and repeat step 8 and adjust the right side flap fold as needed until it fits.

And voila! There should be a prominent part of the anchor and caduceus showing that will face outward in your shadow box!
